Still need to talk about the last couple of DW episodes, but right now all I want to do is talk about CSI or
First of all, I didn't realize that tonight was the season finale. For some reason, I thought it was next week. Despite that, I liked the episode and how the various team members were stressed, determined, and yet, disappointed in Warrick. I thought the various reactions were pretty spot-on, especially Grissom's, (because Warrick has always been his favorite. I think Grissom relates to Warrick in a way that is just completely different from any of the other team members). Loved how supportive, yet professional, Ecklie was. He's not the team's favorite guy, but he's not evil either and he does want to help most of the time.
I knew that the undersheriff was involved, due to his strange posturing throughout the episode. And I knew that something bad was going to happen to Warrick, as soon as the different team members said their goodbyes to him. And, so, when the undersheriff knocked on Warrick's car window, I knew that Warrick probably wasn't going to come out of that unhurt, (or alive...*double sniff*).
I'm sure that the actor's recent arrest plays some part in how that last scene went, (and I haven't heard anything regarding his contract or if he was fired and it might still play out in a completely different way). But storywise? It makes total sense to me to have Warrick actually die. It's dramatic, it will affect all of the major characters in some way, and it will honestly change how the show and the characters operate. Sara leaving was sad, but she didn't die, so it truly only affected Grissom, for the most part. Warrick dying? That leaves a huge hole, with many of the characters asking themselves what went wrong? What could they have done? Who did this? What now?
Don't get me wrong. I really do like the character of Warrick, (and it is the end of an era with the main cast of CSI no longer together), but I am interested to see where the show will go now, if Warrick actually is dead next season.

The loss of Warrick has to make an impact next season. He was such an integral part of their team and he had such different connections to each of the characters. Each character is going to miss him/grieve for him in different ways and it's going to be interesting to see how long his murder investigation will last.
It does feel like the end of an era with both Sara and Warrick gone. I still think it's amazing that the show got to 8 seasons with all the main characters/actors still present. That usually doesn't happen for most shows, (at least with dramas).
